Royal Challengers Bengaluru is one of the most iconic cricket franchises in the
Indian Premier League. Founded in 2008 and owned by United Spirits Limited, the
club is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka and plays its home matches at the legendary
M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Known for their red and black jersey, RCB commands one of the largest fanbases in
world cricket. Their rallying cry, Ee Sala Cup Namdu (this year the cup is ours),
became a symbol of hope across 18 seasons before finally ringing true in June 2025.
"18 years of storms, for one perfect sunrise." — RCB Official, June 3, 2025
Powered by franchise legend Virat Kohli, who has played for only one IPL franchise
across his entire career, RCB also boasts iconic alumni like AB de Villiers and
Chris Gayle. The current era is led by captain Rajat Patidar, who guided the team
to their maiden IPL title in his first full season as skipper.
